About

Apple II users were certainly spoilt for choice when it came to word processors. Wordbench's features tout an 'Outliner' mode, a 'Notetaker', the 'Writer', a 'Brainstormer' as well as a dictionary and thesaurus. While it looks like it's using the 80 column text mode, in reality it's using double hi-res in monochrome to be able to display bold and irregular characters.

There's no mouse support – this is a word processor geared for a truly dedicated writer who might consider ornamental fonts and large type sizes a distraction. The program appears to run from System 6 and from a hard drive - you just need to specify where your working files are when you begin, or create a new working folder to work from.
